Share Your Cup Thursday #147

Hello my friends and welcome to Share Your Cup, (SYC for short).

The party where you share the things that make you happy.

Sometime today we will be welcoming our 10th grandchild into the world.
Can't wait to hold baby Evan in my arms!

I created a little vignette in honor of his arrival.

Sorry that I am late starting the party.  Baby Evan was born and I was so excited to go see him that I forgot to publish my post.  lol!

Here he is just moments after being welcomed into this world.

Our grandchildren certainly make us happy!

Bringing the Outdoors In. . .

Hello my friends, I'm sure you've all heard the design tip that we should consider our outdoor area an extension of our home.

In other words, create a welcome space with comfy furniture for dining, entertaining, and just relaxing.

I love decorating my outdoor spaces, but before the garden is in full 'welcome ' mode I also love to bring a little of the outdoors in.

One of my favorite collections is my watering cans.  Some will be planted with Sweet Potato Vines and others I actually use.

Cabbages are planted, but not ready to be plucked.  I'll settle for a little faux cutie.

I've had the set of garden plates for years.  Perfect addition for my indoor garden.

My collection of floral frogs are just waiting to be put to use.

I brought in a few of my vintage sprinklers.
Love that patina!

Old gardening books and a frog tree under a cloche.

Finials that will end up in the garden make a fun statement indoors.

Seeds needing to be planted are housed in a green ball jar next to an old pair of clippers.

I added another watering can to the stacked picnic hampers in the entry.

This garden themed cabinet caught the attention of a whimsical fork footed bird.
(yup, the feet are made from forks)

After being gone for a few days and raining all weekend I came home to a garden that is really starting to blossom.

Won't be long till a lot of these items will be moving outdoors.

Till then, they make me smile!

hugs,
Jann

Share Your Cup Thursday #146

Hello my friends and welcome to Share Your Cup, (SYC for short).

The party where you share the things that make you happy.

I'm starting the party early this week because I'm off on a 5 day fun filled get away with 9 other gals.
How much trouble to you think we can get in to?  lol!

We'll stitch, we'll craft, go thrifting, antiquing, hit yard sales, shop, and oh yes, do plenty of eating too.

Fun, fun, fun!!

Before I get the heck out of Dodge, I
just want to say how much I appreciate you and thanks for the sweet comments so many of you leave when you visit!

Thanks so much for your support and welcome if you are linking up for the first time!

Now on to features from SYC #145:

I just love the makeover Ann from Tarnished Royalty gave to this dollar store bird!

Diane from Parlor Room Ponderings created a fun vignette using old cheese graters.

Tracy from Blue Ridge Vintage gave a thrift store wreath a great makeover.

Marie from Interior Frugalista turned an ordinary mirror into an antique treasure.

What are the chances that two blogs would do a photo shoot with their new baby chicks?
Well, two did and I couldn't pick just one!

Lori Leigh from L. L. Farm

and Julie from Little Farmstead.

Love these sweet peeps!

Yum!  Look at this lemon honey cream icebox cake shared by Simply Suzannes

Garden Mosiacs

Hello my friends, wishing you all a happy Monday.

Just something about Monday's that I love.  I don't know if it's the fact that I feel energized after a relaxed or fun filled weekend or if it's that renewal thing.

You know, getting the house back in order and making plans of what I am going to, (or wanting to) accomplish during the week.

Won't be long now till our garden is filled with perennial blooms.

Till then I took a little stroll down memory lane and found some garden mosaics that I have shared in the past.

Hope they brighten your day!

I'm calling this one 'white delight'

As much as I love color, there's just something magical about white in the garden!

 'Glory in the Morning'

It's a jolly 'Holly-day with Holly'

'Summer Sunshine'

'Take a Seat'

'Larkspur Love'

'Tantalizing Trio'

'Pretty Poppies'

'Pink Pods and Posies'

'cute companions'

'Sunny Sunflowers'

I shared the mosaics just as they were when I first posted them.  Some of them made me laugh.  A few have a huge watermark.  Others don't even have one.  A lot have a black line on the side and notice how I cut off my watermark on the sunflowers after enlarging it?  He-he, hopefully I'm a little better now!

hugs,

Bird Business

Many of you love decorating with birds as much as I do.

After my 5 year old granddaughter Saydee left my home yesterday I wondered if just maybe I was in the 'bird business'.

My grands are use to our home being decorated for upcoming holidays.  So when Saydee asked why I had so many birds.  I think she thought there was some special bird holiday that she needed to know about. lol!

I gave her some lame reason and it wasn't until after she left that I thought that I should have teased her a little and said that I was in the 'bird business".

I love feathering my nest!

C

Decorating with birds for Spring helps me do just that!

3 or 4 years ago my sil, Laurie and I made a bunch of paper birdhouses.
They were so much fun to make and I still love them!

I placed some branches in one of my white urns and hung them from the limbs.

I love birdhouses!  I often buy them when on vacation.  The large blue one came from a road trip in ID a few years ago and I bought the little one in Napa last July.

I found this sweet red one at a local furniture store 4 or 5 years ago.

Hubby recently made me a chippy frame out of some old wood I had for a bird print that I bought in Feb.

It became the hi-lite of my mantle.

I created a small vignette on the hearth.  It included a bird of course.

I brought a touch of nature in with a moss ball in an urn on top of two of my favorite décor books.

Once my nest is feathered I love to fly out into the garden in hopes of seeing some real live birds.

Are you like me and have so many bird themed items that you are wondering if you are in the 'bird business'?

hugs,
Jann
